There are many things to think about the video transfer, especially when going to a hard drive. Most of us have home video tapes of several people or events that have occurred throughout our lives. Home movies are a great tool to use for social events such as meetings, parties, or a pleasant family night weekend. Today, however, most of the equipment used for recording and playback of these video tapes have become obsolete and no longer occurs, it you can do much of your home videos unplayable once your computer fails. When deciding what to do with all of your analog videotapes, take some time to consider the fact that video tapes will not last forever, nor were they designed as such. The degradation of the tape is a common problem in old video tapes, or tapes are not stored properly. With a little knowledge and time, you can easily revive these old tapes with some modifications to create seamless video transfer to DVD.

In the early days of video recording, video editing home was a daunting task and, often took much time and patience. Technology has reached a point where you can simply press play on the recorder, click the mouse, and its entire video captured on the hard drive of your computer. This development now allows average consumers to record, edit and produce studio-quality images, from the comfort of your home or office. Now, instead of using a video production studio to create your next promotional video or slideshow of the family, now you can make these projects their own time, budget, and specifications, using a Canopus ADVC110.

Once your Canopus is connected to your computer using a FireWire cable, and has obtained a VCR or DV camcorder or RCA cables, and video capture software, which is almost ready to start capturing video. To begin the process, connect the VCR or the Canopus cam with RCA cables. After this, open your video capturing software, and options, set the capture folder until you know that the video will be once the recording has finished. If you plan to perform other tasks on your computer, it's capturing, you should set the priority of its software capture video to "high". You can do this by placing the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete Select, find the video capture software on the list, right mouse button and select the priority registration process. Next, take the tape that you would like to have transferred and ensure it is fully rewound. Visually inspect the belt to make sure it is free of mold, dirt, or other debris, then insert it into the tape player.

All what now remains is to hit play on your tape player, and as soon as the video starts, click Start Capture button on your video capture software. If all went well, you should see your video playing in the preview window of your video capture software, as it is being captured. When the video tape Moreover, stop the capture, and in the source folder, is the new AVI video file captured, he is ready to be edited or become any type of video you choose. More and more people are realizing the ease and flexibility of virtually uncompressed AVI files, compared with standard VHS to DVD transfer.
